All Guidance lessons will be taught during Social Studies class. All Guidance lessons use Tennessee School Counseling Student Standards as mandated by the Tennessee State Board of Education - School Counseling Model & Standards Policy # 5.103

Lesson #1: College and Career Readiness Standards - Career Interest Inventory - Tennessee College & Career Planning.
Website www.planningyourdreams.org will be used to complete the Kuder Career Interest Inventory. A copy of the Kuder Interest Inventory will be placed in each 8th grader’s folder for High School Registration in February.
Lesson #2: College and Career Readiness - A Continuation of Lesson
#1: Continue Career Exploration using the website: www.planningyourdreams.org
Lesson #3: College and Career Readiness - Students will use skills
learned from their Career Exploration to make their selections for
Career Day (8th Grade Career Day is scheduled for 1/19/18)
Lesson #4: High School Planning: We will review the requirements
needed for High School graduation and discuss the actual registration
process using the AHS 2018-2019 High School Planning Guide & Program
of Studies. This lesson date will be determined by feedback given from AHS.
*Mrs. Marjorie Johnson (6th Grade Counselor) and I share 8th Grade Counseling Duties. We work together to assist all 8th graders and see them regularly in their 8th Grade Social Studies Classrooms.
