School Counselor Sponsored Activities
* New Bobcat Orientation Group:
The purpose of the New Bobcat Group is to assist new students with the transition to a new school and provide these students with the opportunity to meet some new friends. In order for a 7th or 8th grader to attend the New Bobcat sessions, they must be a new student at AMS. During the sessions, we will participate in team-building activities, discuss ways to make new friends, discuss ways to reduce stress and learn all about AMS clubs/organizations/leadership opportunities.
The New Bobcat Group will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays (during Bobcat Zone 9/5-9/14).
* School Counselor Sponsored - Leadership Groups - refer to AMS Agenda Book pg. 15 for descriptions of the groups.
One of the best ways for students to get acclimated to a new school is to participate in clubs and organizations. Leadership groups offer students an opportunity to build responsibility and give service to school and community. Each group has training meetings at the beginning of the school year. Students are selected on various criteria which includes the completion of an application.
Leadership applications will be available to all students who are interested in applying on the following dates: August 29th - August 31st, during lunch time. The school counselors will be on the stage with applications available. Leadership applications are due on September 6th.
